HIGHPOWER SPORTER RIFLE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
WHERE:
Southwest Gun Club’s Bogue Chitto
Range at
200 yards.
4 miles East of I-55 Exit 30.
Drive to US Highway 51 turn left and drive to Hog Chain Road,
Turn Right and drive over railroad tracks and turn right on the
next Dirt road. Drive to stop
sign and turn right on Pricedale Rd.
Drive approximately 4 miles and take a left on Hunters Road.
The range is 2.5 miles up Hunters Road,
Look for sign on the right side of the road.
WHEN:
Saturday December 4, 2004.
To assure a
place to shoot, you must
pre-register. Sign-up time is
8:30AM and shooting starts at 9:00AM.
Maximum number of shooters 40.
RULES:
NRA Highpower Sporting Rifle Rules shall apply.
ENTRY
FEES: $25.00 including NRA
competitor fees, Juniors shoot for $15.00. Membership will be required in
MSFOA unless the shooter has membership in a reciprocal State Association.
Louisiana and Texas do not reciprocate with MS.
Shooters must be a member of the NRA ,
unless they are Juniors and a member of an NRA affiliated gun club.
Members of State Associations that do not reciprocate with MS will
have to join the MSFOA.

EQUIPMENT
AND AMMUNITION:
Note:
No shooting coats or gloves will be allowed. Gloves normally worn for
apparel will be allowed. Shirts with shoulder and elbow pads will be
allowed. This competition is designed for the hunter. No special
equipment is required or allowed. You will need a ground cloth, hearing
protection and eye protection to participate. For more info, email me here

Rifle:
Any Sporting Rifle that weighs not over 9.5 pounds including
sights. No schutzen butt
plates or palm rests allowed.
Sights:
Metallic and telescopic sights allowed but telescope must be 6X or less.
Variable telescopes may be taped on the 6X setting.
Clothing:
Shooting jackets, pants and gloves are not allowed. Gloves that are worn as clothing are allowed as well as elbow
pads and a shirt or jacket that has a shoulder pad are allowed.
Ammunition:
Any ammunition safe to fire is allowed.
No tracer, armor piercing or explosive ammo allowed.
COURSE
OF FIRE:

Sporter Rifle Course of fire shot on SR target at 200 yards:
1.
8 shots sighters in any position in 10 minutes.
2.
8 shots prone slow fire in 8 minutes.
3.
8 shots standing slow fire in 8 minutes.
4.
8 shots sitting or kneeling in 2 strings of 4 shots in 30 seconds.
5.
8 shots prone rapid fire in 2 strings of 4 shots in 30 seconds.
Aggregate
of 2, 3 , 4 and 5 will be added together to determine the MS-NRA State
Champion in NRA HP Sporting Rifle.
